Latino Caregiver Event in Lawrence, MA
On Saturday, October 26th, a Latino Caregiver Event for professional and family caregivers at The Center at Lawrence Council on Aging at 155 Haverhill Street in Lawrence from 8:30AM until 12:30PM. Right at Home is proud to be one of the sponsors and will be offering our Dementia Live sensitivity training for the caregivers. We recently trained almost 200 of our CareTeam members with this hands-on training.
Other activities will be chair massages, stress reduction workshops, live music and raffles. The event is the brainchild of the Merrimack Valley Alzheimer's Partnership, which supports the Alzheimer's Association of MA/NH. The Partnership is a collection of local service providers and family members. Each Partnership is a self-sufficient task-oriented alliance of health care and human service professionals, family members and other concerned individuals working to increase and improve local services through education, coordination, development of new services, and advocacy. The Partnership works closely with the Alzheimer's Association, helping the association to be more responsive to local needs and in turn helping the association with advocacy and fundraising. Right at Home has been a proud and active member since 2006.
In the Merrimack Valley, we have many Latino employees and home care clients. At Right at Home we always find it to be important to serve our communities in environments that they are comfortable with and in their own language. The Latino Caregiver Event does just that. To RSVP to the event, and it is always sold out, please call the Center at 978-620-3550 or call the Alzheimer’s Association at 800-272-3900. There is respite care for caregivers that need to bring their loved ones, but space is limited, so call today.
