Kerplunk - A Game of Skill to Entertain and Keep the Brain Active
Have you ever played the game Kerplunk? It is a vintage game that first came to market in 1967 by the Ideal Toy Company. It is a game of skill to remove the wood sticks while not making the marbles drop.
Our owner, Rick Carson, and his son, Morgan, made a giant version of this classic game. It was a game Rick's mom could play with the family while she was still able. The base is made of wood and the basket is a half-inch hardware cloth. It has a plastic strip to finish the top edge. The sticks are wood dowels to support the balls until they fall. The balls were purchased online. The balls drop into a fold up swimming pool so they do not roll away.
Rick donated this Kerplunk game to the Modesto Senior Center. They will use it for activities for senior citizens for entertainment.
