In the Assisted Living Locators of Long Island article, you can read all about the unique Right at Home Cognitive Support program that Right at Home North Shore and Queens has brought to the community.  Mike McClernon writes about how Right at Home North Shore Long Island and Queens has introduced lifelike robotic dogs as a tool to help dementia patients as a replacement for Pet Therapy that can typically be found in Dementia Care or Assisted Living Communities.  When used in the home of someone living with dementia, these remarkably lifelike replacement pups can help the person regain a sense of calm and peace.  These stuffed pets are so lifelike, they respond to your voice, touch, and they even have a heartbeat.

The Cognitive Support program offers a care plan as unique as your loved one, that focuses on nutrition, socialization, awareness, and wellness.  These robotic pet therapy dogs are an incredible way to help families and caregivers work together to help relate, connect and encourage those living with dementia when a live pet therapy animal is unavailable.
