Alzheimer's and Dementia Training
Alzheimer's and Dementia Training
Right at Home of North Shore Long Island and Eastern Queens sent dedicate caregivers to a special in-service training at the Long Island Alzheimer's and Dementia Center to learn about different types of dementia, stages of Alzheimer's Disease, as well as tips and strategies to best care for a client with dementia.
Melissa Katz, LCSW Director of Caregiver Services and Grant Management for the Long Island Alzheimer's and Dementia Center, presented the training to Home Care Companions, Home Health Aids, and Certified Nursing Assistants, as well as other direct care professionals. The Long Island Alzheimer's and Dementia Center's mission to improve the quality of life for those living with Alzheimer’s disease and related forms of dementia, and their caregivers, aligns with Right at Home's mission of improving the quality of life for those we serve. They actively work to achieve their mission through research-based programming for all stages of Alzheimer’s, Caregiver Support Groups, in-home respite solutions, transportation options, and additional services.
