Right at Home Featured in Newsday Article
Right at Home of North Shore Long Island was recently featured in a Newsday article talking about the immediate need for caregivers in our community and across the country. In home care workers are an incredibly valuable group of people that have been working tirelessly during the COVID-19 pandemic, but with the current situation, a familiar problem has become increasingly important. There just aren't enough caregivers available to help take care of seniors and adults with disabilities in our community. The name of the article is "Old Pressures and New Ones Put Home Health Aides in Short Supply."
At Right at Home, we are always looking for the best caregivers to be able to take care of our valued clients. With the unemployment numbers as high as they are, the article talks about how some may now be considering a career change into something that is always needed, and comes with a purpose to serve others, in the care giving field. Providing care for others is what we do best, and in the Newsday article, they interview one of our phenomenal home health aides, Tamara C. Tamara talks about some of the nervousness that can come from providing care for seniors during the COVID-19 pandemic, but also reinforces all of the efforts made by our office to protect our staff and clients on a daily basis.
Our Vice President, Phyllis Newbert, was also interviewed in the article. She spoke about the constant need for quality caregivers in the North Shore Long Island area, even prior to the current environment. Phyllis talked about how many people overlook a position in caregiving even though caregivers are one of the most essential parts of our society. Our caregivers take care of the most vulnerable population during this pandemic, and we know there are many more in our community that could use help, if only we had the caregivers.
Right at Home of North Shore Long Island has an immediate need for new caregivers to join our team. There are seniors and adults in our community that may have recently recovered from COVID-19, and now need care due to complications from the disease, or perhaps a family may be wary of putting their loved ones in assisted living facilities for risk of spread and would prefer one-on-one care. If you or someone you know may be in search of a new opportunity with an incredible team, you might want to consider a career with Right at Home and #BeEssential.
