Owner Has 20 Years of Experience in Pharmacy Practice
Right at Home Owner Lisa Sukin
After graduating from the University of California with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 1988, I spent 20 years working in hospital and retail pharmacy. Pharmacists are great resource in the community as they are accessible in grocery stores, drug stores and big retail stores. They are important to the overall health of patients as they know the therapeutic roles of drugs and the side effects, as well as how drugs interact with other medications and foods.
A 2010-2011 survey showed that 90% of older adults take at least 1 prescription drug on a regular basis, 36% of older adults need to take at least 5 prescription medicines. Medication management can become difficult for seniors at times as medications have specific dosing schedule. While professional caregivers from home care agencies can remind a care client to take their medications, they cannot legally open medication containers and put medications in cassette dispensers and pillboxes. It would be best if seniors can enlist a family member or friend to set up the medications.
If you have questions regarding how Right at Home can assist you with non-medical-home-care needs or medication reminder, contact us for more information. We work closely with our clients and their families, designing custom care plans to meet the individual health needs of seniors.
