Virtual Dementia Tour Brooklyn Presentation

presentationAny experienced public speaker will tell you it is critical to know your audience. You must have some idea who it is you will be presenting your information to. This is the mindset that Brooklyn’s Right at Home Director, Walter Ochoa, possesses each time he shares the Virtual Dementia Tour. The VDT, as it is sometimes called, is the most innovative and informative education session available anywhere in the tri-state area when it comes to understanding the brain of an Alzheimer’s sufferer.

Recently, with temperatures in the single digits, about 25 brave senior citizens from St. Ephrems Church’s Friendship Club in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn came out to learn about Alzheimer’s, a disease that specifically targets those in their age group.

The entire group sat attentively as Walter took them through the gripping PowerPoint presentation. They openly participated by asking many questions and by sharing a host of personal experiences they’ve had with friends or family who have suffered from this dreaded illness.

The hour passed swiftly. As the program concluded, many approached Walter with additional questions. He is always ready to help with answers that may provide a better quality of care for anyone with dementia, especially since this is what his office specializes in.

To no surprise we were asked to come back again when the weather is nicer and the entire Friendship Club’s members would be in attendance, allowing them all to benefit from the Virtual Dementia Tour. We look forward to our next visit.
