Surviving and Beating COVID-19

With the complexity and disruption that COVID- 19 has brought to our lives and the lives of our most vulnerable, I sincerely hope this letter finds you able to stand on both feet, feeling well and intact with a fresh haircut and like myself, a new appreciation for the important things in life.

On March 17th, much like a General, I mobilized my troops (office staff of 10) to begin reporting to duty from a new post called home. Immediately, I mastered Zoom meetings and begrudgingly, with the support of the Bucks and Philadelphia Department of Health offices, I became a COVID-19 subject matter expert, Case Investigator, Contact Tracer, Crisis Counselor, Infection Control Officer and Inspirational and Spiritual leader all while being the proud, proud employer to over 90 front line workers.

The risk for front line workers was not just for those who work in hospitals and acute care settings, it was also for those who care for the elderly in retirement communities, memory care units, rehab facilities, assisted livings, SNF’s AND Homecare. These aides went out into the field, like soldiers and fought the COVID-19 fight every day in- order to keep our elderly safe and at home where they belong. Thankfully, because of our standard precautions and infection control procedures, very few of our caregivers were sickened by COVID-19, even when caring for COVID-19 positive clients.

Celebrating Our Hero Caregivers! With pride, Right at Home celebrated our caregivers on Thursday May 21st with a Heroes parade, lunch, donated by Chick-Fil-A, Herr’s and Tastykake and fanfare that included an article in the Bucks County Courier Times and a story on Action News.

Right at Home survived the COVID-19 war! We did not only survive it; we beat it and we are back better and stronger than ever.  As a result, I am delighted to announce our new RightSafe initiative that we are rolling out which includes a unique 6 step safety protocol that each caregiver will follow upon entering a clients’ home.

As we approach our 10 year anniversary next month I would like to thank you for the privilege of providing hundreds of thousands of hours of care to thousands of vulnerable clients in our community and look forward to being your RightSafe choice in Homecare.

From myself and my team please know we thank you, appreciate you and most of all are here for you; ready and prepared for battle.

Warmest Regards,
Denise Bernstein, Owner
