Empowering Veterans

Right at Home Waterloo has made a wonderful connection with a nonprofit organization called Americans for Independent Living (AFIL) and we attended the Grand Opening of their new building on Thursday, August 1, 2024, in Cedar Falls. 

AFIL was founded locally nine years ago, and it has been growing ever since, reaching more and more veterans in need.  It is an organization that provides resources, household items, clothing, guidance, and social interaction for veterans struggling with homelessness and activities of daily living. 

Our clinical team has been volunteering with AFIL the last few months, working to collect, organize, and deliver household items, furniture and clothing and it has truly been a gratifying experience. We are a proud provider of home health services for veterans in the Cedar Valley and supporting Americans for Independent Living adds another layer of support and gratitude for this special population!
