KWWL TV Inaugural Health Fair

One of our goals for this year has been to raise awareness of Right at Home in the Cedar Valley and educate the community about all the services we can provide to help people age safely and independently at home. We partnered with KWWL TV, the NBC affiliate located in Waterloo, for tv and online advertising as well as being a platinum level sponsor of their first annual Health Fair. I also had an opportunity to be interviewed during the noon news on Tuesday, August 6 discussing topics affecting older adults like preparing for aging and dementia (check it out by clicking the link).

The fair was held on Sunday, August 11, 2024, from 12-5pm at the Waterloo Convention Center. There were a variety of educational discussion groups scheduled throughout the afternoon and I provided two sessions, one on Safe Aging in Place and another on Dementia- What is Normal Aging vs Memory Loss?  My Clinical Manager, Molly, was gracious enough to join me and we enjoyed meeting attendees as well as other health-related providers and organizations. It is gratifying to explain what we do and how we support people at home, everything from cooking and cleaning to the 24-hr long-term care level of assistance and support for hospice services.  People are often surprised to hear how well-equipped we are to provide these home health services!  We have seen an increase in inquiries to our Waterloo
