Right at Home is continuously looking for ways to elevate the experience, lifestyle and recognition of the thousands of caregivers who care passionately for their clients. To help showcase their appreciation, Right at Home celebrated Professional Caregivers Week to raise awareness of the profession this year from November 10th-16th. It was an opportunity for us to honor the talented, skilled and selfless professional care aides that work with Right at Home and assist elderly and disabled adults in their home and, in the process, help enrich their lives and keep them safe. Since 2008, Right at Home has served thousands of seniors throughout the Los Angeles area and it wouldn’t have been possible without the exceptional work of our professional staff of caregivers.

To close out the week long celebration, Right at Home held a Caregiver Appreciation party at Shakey’s in Burbank. Complimentary pizza, chicken, drinks and Shakey’s world-famous Mojo’s were provided along with the highly-popular Oreo Pizza for desert. In addition, free game play at Shakey’s legendary arcade was supplied as Right at Home’s care aides were encouraged to bring along their family and friends. Throughout the party, care aides also were given a try at the Plinko board, with chances to win additional prizes and gift cards.

“We love our care aides and honor the work that they do for our clients,” commented Right at Home Care Coordinator Vanessa Linares, who organized the event. “The opportunity to bring them all together and celebrate their excellence truly is one of the highlights of the year for us.”

Providing the Right Care

Finding and hiring high-quality care aides has never been more important. Data from the Home Care Association of America (HCAOA) indicates that by 2050, there will be 84 million Americans over the age of 65 and 19 million Americans over the age of 85. Today, 40 percent of adults aged 65+ need daily assistance, and 70 percent of adults aged 65+ will need assistance at some point. HCAOA data also shows that nine out of 10 seniors want to stay in their own homes for as long as possible, but there are many gaps in the care continuum that keep emerging. To help fill this gap, Right at Home offers some of the most lucrative benefits in the industry to its care staff, including offering health, dental, vision and life insurance, 401K Plans, paid sick time and more, not to mention competitive pay.

"We know how hard it is for families and individuals to find the right care aide to assist themselves or their loved one,” reflected Right at Home recruiter Stacy Clark. “That’s why we go out of our way to treat our employees with the respect and dignity they deserve and we feel that same dignity and respect is what they then pass along when caring for our clients.”
