Meeting with California State Senator - Assembly Bill 2455

Assembly Bill 2455 - Home Care Aide privacy concerns

California Senator Anthony Portantino

Right at Home owner Leanna Dickstein and care aide Yvonne Montoya, along with other concerned business owners and home care employees, recently met with California State Senator Anthony J. Portantino at his Glendale, California office. They were there to discuss proposed Assembly Bill 2455. The controversial bill, which would make public the personal contact information of certified home care aides in the State of California to third parties. This has created much anxiety and concern among Right at Home employees who don’t want their home address and cell phone information to be readily available. As a certified home care agency with the California Department of Social Services, Right at Home only uses certified home care aides and therefore felt it was our responsibility to speak up on their behalf. Leanna and Yvonne effectively conveyed these concerns to Senator Portantino, who listened intently. We are grateful to Senator Portantino for being so gracious with his time and attention.
