Pat Boone, now age 86 and living in the Hollywood Hills with his "housekeeper and a little dog" is an American singer, composer, actor, writer, television personality, motivational speaker, and spokesman. He was a successful pop singer in the United States during the 1950s and early 1960s.
According to Billboard, Boone was the second-biggest charting artist of the late 1950s, behind only Elvis Presley.
He sold more than 45 million records, had 38 Top 40 hits, and appeared in more than 12 Hollywood films. One of those hit songs was April Love, which was written as a theme song for a 1957 film of the same name starring Boone and Shirley Jones. This song spent 26 weeks on the pop charts and six weeks at number 1! It was also nominated for an Oscar for Best Musical/Original Song.
This is a perfect selection for the April 20th Elder Services of Merrimack Valley Memory Café! Memory Cafés are a comfortable, social gathering that allow people experiencing memory loss and a loved one to connect, socialize, and build new support networks. We have an activity and you and your loved one with dementia can join others.
Be together while we are still stuck at home!
Come join us at 1-2 PM EST on Zoom on April 20, 2021
A Memory Café is a welcoming and safe place for people with forgetfulness or other changes in their thinking and for their family and friends to come together. Each Memory Cafe is unique. Some cafe's invite guest artists, some offer education about memory changes, and some are just for relaxing and chatting. All cafe's share these goals: to help guests feel comfortable and know they are not alone. Cafes are a place to talk with others who understand what you are going through, to leave behind limitations and instead focus on strengths. In addition, cafes are a place to enjoy each other’s company, and to explore something new.
