28th Annual Jon Callaghan Memorial Turkey Trot Now Registering

Come join us for the Village of Gurnee 28th Annual Jon Callaghan Memorial Turkey Trot 5k fun run & walk! The goal of the run/walk is to encourage the community to come together and get to know each other in a relaxed atmosphere while raising money for the Jon Callaghan Memorial fund and the Gurnee Community Church Youth Work Camp.

The event will be held Thursday Nov. 24th at 8AM at the Gurnee Fire Station 1. Check in is at 7AM. To register visit: https://gurneeturkeytrot2022.eventbrite.com. 

Jon Callaghan was a student at at O'Plaine School in Gurnee, who passed away in 1997 after a courageous battle with neuroblastoma cancer. Per the Callaghan family, the funds raised have been used to help Comer Children's Memorial Hospital Cancer Research, School District 56 Program for Learning Disabled, and many others. 

Each year the Gurnee Community Church Youth Mission Trip participants raise funds for international and domestic trips including the Many Hands Project (MHP). The MHP serves underprivileged  Lake County homeowners by doing repairs and yard work, and also building wheelchair ramps and beds. For more information visit: gurneeturkeytrot.org.
