Right at Home's Necessity Tree Provides Help to Local Seniors in Need
The Right at Home In Home Care & Assistance agency is continuing an annual effort to help local area Seniors in need by collecting and distributing donated household items.
This year, two Necessity Trees are on display: In the Lansing Mall located in Delta Township and at the Right at Home office, located at 1035 Charlevoix Drive (inside the Family Medicine of Michigan Building) in Grand Ledge, MI.
Contributors are encouraged to visit a tree, pull a necessity tag from the tree and bring the much-needed item(s) to the Right at Home office, located at 1035 Charlevoix Drive, Grand Ledge, MI. Donations are being delivered to Seniors in need by volunteers and Right at Home Staff throughout the Holiday season.
Needed Household items include toilet paper, hand soap, hand sanitizer, shampoo, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, cleaning supplies, paper products and blankets.
“For many seniors, cold weather conditions make getting around very difficult. Many people will go without these items, fearing driving conditions, not having transportation, or lack of funds to cover basic home necessities”, stated Judy Jones, Community Liaison of the Right at Home agency in Grand Ledge. “We are so grateful for the outpouring of support our community has shown for the Necessity Tree program over the years. We know first-hand that a little help goes a long way for many and we’re happy to help spread a little holiday spirit”, stated Judy.
