We Love Our Caregivers
Liana LaHood
Right at Home is pleased to recognize and celebrate one of our very own caregivers in her new career as a pediatric oncology nurse at Seattle Children’s Hospital.
Several years ago Liana was exploring her desire to enter the medical field. She thought that getting some experience working as a caregiver would be a good place to start. When Liana interviewed with Right At Home, we knew she had “the right stuff” to be an excellent caregiver.
While working for Right At Home Liana consistently demonstrated she was a good listener, she was empathetic and compassionate. She advocated for her clients’ needs and she adapted well to clients whose condition meant no day was ever the same.
Liana grew up in Scotts Valley, and began her medical studies at Cabrillo College in Aptos while working for Right at Home. After gaining her practical experience with us she knew she wanted to go back to school to complete her nursing degree.
Even though we “lost” Liana to our service we wanted to celebrate with her the exciting adventure she has begun in Seattle. We are in the serving business and it gives all of us a tremendous amount of satisfaction when we can help our caregivers reach their long-term dreams and goals.
Thank you, Liana, and thank you to all our caregiving staff who work so hard to help improve the quality of life for those we serve.
Maria Medina
At our Right at Home office we talk a lot about hiring the RIGHT people. One of those people is Maria Medina. In July, 2018 Maria celebrated her 2nd anniversary with Right at Home and she has been a consistent beacon of light to our clients. Working in the cities of Monterey and Pacific Grove Maria has had several long-term clients. Her dedication, reliability, and compassion make her an invaluable resource for our care team. At times Maria’s clients have had to go to the hospital or a rehab community, but no matter the location Maria shows up. She has been a steady presence in her client’s lives providing the stability and love each of them needs and deserves. This month we salute you Maria and thank you for your dedicated service, you are a blessing.
