Dementia Training for Our First Responders
Thanks to Brookdale Senior Living community in Prospect Heights, for allowing , Owner of the Mount Prospect Right at Home office to provide education about Dementia. A simulated Dementia Live experience was also provided, giving participants an inside out feeling of what it's like to have Dementia.
Drew Smith, Prospect Heights Fire Chief and Members of the Prospect Heights Police Department were in attendance. Several staff members from the Brookdale facility and individual family members from the surrounding area attended the presentation to learn more about caring for someone with Dementia. A special thanks to Martha Petersen for organizing the event.
Right at Home Mount Prospect is a certified, licensed Dementia Live provider. Dementia Live is an evidence-based, high impact experience that shows participants what it's like to live with dementia. The program results in a deeper understanding of living with cognitive impairment and sensory change.
