World Alzheimer's Day
Launched in 2012 by Alzheimer's Disease International (ADI), World Alzheimer’s Day is a day every year on September 21st Alzheimer’s organizations around the world focus on raising awareness about Alzheimer’s and dementia. We at Right at Home Palm Beach Gardens continue to spread awareness through many of our programs and connecting with local professionals in our community. By raising awareness, we can assist people in detecting the early signs and symptoms of Alzheimer’s and raise the necessary funds for research into Alzheimer’s.
In Palm Beach County, there are more than 55,000 people affected by Alzheimer’s disease and will continue to rise every year. It’s important now to know the signs of Alzheimer’s. Early detection allows those affected the best possible treatment and support for your loved ones.
10 Early Signs and Symptoms of Alzheimer's
According to Alzheimer’s Association, the 10 warnings signs you should look out for are the following:
- Memory Loss
- Challenges in solving problems
- Difficulty completing daily tasks
- Difficulty with time or place
- Visual problems
- Difficulty with words
- Misplacing items
- Difficulty making decisions
- Social isolation
- Mood and personality changes
