Free Memory Screenings

National Memory Screening Program

Through our partnership with National Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, Right at Home Palm Beach is proud to announce that we are offering free, confidential memory screenings to seniors. These memory screenings will be conducted by qualified health care professionals who will provide educational materials about memory concerns and brain health.


What is a memory screening?

According to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, a memory screening is a simple and safe evaluation tool that checks memory and other thinking skills. It can indicate whether an additional checkup by a qualified healthcare professional is needed. The screening will consist of a series of questions and task designed to test memory, language skills, and thinking ability.

What causes memory problems?

There are many reasons seniors may experience memory problems that isn’t entirely due to Alzheimer’s or other dementia related illnesses. In some cases, they may be experiencing regular age-related memory loss. Other causes of memory problems can include:

  • Mismanaging medications or taking the wrong medications
  • Emotional stress, anxiety, depression, and grief
  • Recovering from recently medical treatment such as heart surgery or chemo
  • Lack of sleep
  • Poor eating habits

Who should get a memory screening?

If you or your loved one are experiencing signs of memory loss or have family history of Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia-related illnesses, then it may be time to get a memory screening. In addition, memory screenings are available to anyone who are just interested in seeing how well their memory is.
