Right at Home Pasadena/Covina Staff and Caregivers Receive COVID Vaccine
It’s hard to believe that we’ve approached what looks like the final stages of the Covid-19’s stronghold on our daily lives. The production of the vaccines has provided some hope among many of us that we have finally found a way forward during these tough times.
Luckily, thanks to our friends at Pacific Pace, some of Right at Home Pasadena/Covina’s office staff and caregivers were able to receive the Corona Virus vaccine within the last week!
Among the many who received the Moderna vaccine, our office manager Amber wanted to share her experience with the process. “There was no pain at the injection site,” Amber said a couple of days after receiving the shot. “I still feel nothing. It was done in less than two seconds!”
Amber said the process was very simple. Those receiving the vaccine filled out a couple of forms, verify some basic information, and finally, the medical team will give you the shot.
Afterwards, a 15-minute standby time is required to ensure there are no adverse reactions. Within two to three weeks, it is required to schedule another appointment to receive the second and final dose.
Raquel, one of our client care managers, similarly said her experience was quicker and easier than she imagined.
"It was easy to get the appointment,” Raquel said. “Pacific Pace gave us the time slots and I got to choose.” As for the feeling of receiving the shot, Raquel said she “didn't feel a thing.”
Right at Home Pasadena/Covina’s president Renee said aside from a little aching for the next day or so, she and her family are feeling great now that the sensation subsided. “I had soreness at the injection site for a day and a half,” Renee said. Other than that, “my experience felt great!”
Renee is thrilled about the vaccine becoming available. “I am excited to be protected,” she said. “I see this as a gift!”
Part of Right at Home’s mission through this pandemic has been to consistently move forward in safer and healthier ways however we can. Members of Right at Home’s staff received the vaccine as a way to keep our team safe and ready to move past the difficult year we’ve all experienced.
So, with the first month of the year coming to a close, here’s to progress, and to a healthy, bountiful 2021!
