Right at Home Sacramento-Davis has been proudly servicing the Pocket-Greenhaven area also known as “The Pocket” for over a decade now. We thoroughly enjoy being able to support the residents residing there by providing the care they need to remain healthy, safe, and happy in their homes.
Pocket-Greenhaven is a suburban community within the city of Sacramento and only a few miles south of downtown Sacramento. It is bordered by Interstate 5 on the east and a semi-circular "pocket" bend in the Sacramento River on the south, west, and north. This area has attracted many people over the years and typically has older home owners who bought homes in the 1960’s and 1970’s.
As a smaller community, most clients we have had tend to visit Nugget Market off of Florin Road as they have some of the freshest produce around, including organic foods. This way when our caregivers are preparing meals, they are guaranteed to be fresh and delicious!
When our clients like to get out of the house to get something to eat or drink there has been a couple local spots that have stood out. One of these is Shari’s Cafe and Pies also off Florin Road. They have yummy baked goods including delicious pies! Another is Florez Bar and Grill. They serve up some great cocktails and Mexican dishes!
One of our primary goals while engaged with a senior client is getting them out of the house and experiencing life! There are several places within the Pocket-Greenhaven community to take our clients to that are scenic and/or that offer something for everyone. One of the places our clients go is the Robbie Waters Pocket-Greenhaven Library. Whether it is to pick up a book to bring home or attending some of the activities they put on, it is a great place to take our seniors - and a staple in the community. Another wonderful place to escape to is Garcia Bend Park. No matter the season, this is a beautiful place to relax and take in the scenery. The park is on a lake with a boat ramp, picnic areas, restrooms, play areas, and soccer fields.
In addition to caring for those still in their homes, we also provide care at local Assisted Living Communities, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing Facilities. Some of these include Revere Court; a beautiful Cottage-style Memory Care where seniors with Dementia and Alzheimer’s can live comfortably and safely with the ability to roam within the property within the gates at their will.
ACC Care Center helps patients with rehab services and long term skilled care as well as being very well known for their Meals on Wheels Program that is helping a large percentage of the community by delivering heart healthy frozen meals to those still living independently at home but unable to cook for themselves. They also have an Independent and Assisted Community called ACC Greenhaven Terrace. Some other Assisted Livings we work with are Greenhaven Estates and The Meadows at Country Place.
