Join Right at Home - Sacramento/Davis for the 3rd of our FREE Special “Caring for the Aging” Educational Workshop Series. On the last Saturday of each month we will host a workshop focused on the key issues affecting those responsible for the care of a senior loved-one and those who are in the thick of providing the actual hands on care. Whether you are the family member of a senior needing or receiving care, or a caregiver providing the care, these workshops were developed for you.
Our team of care professionals along with other senior care experts have comprised this series to specifically target those important issues we know are a factor in making decisions about getting care and providing care in a safe and effective manner.Workshop #3: Know Your Medicare
Presented by Jaynie Dame with askjaynie.com and Lyle Cunningham of Cunningham Insurance Services, the two will lay out the Medicare basics and how to navigate the system.
What is it? Am I eligible? How do I apply, when, what is covered, how do I know what is covered, what if I don't like my coverage and what happens when I have a medical emergency?
Lyle Cunningham of Cunningham Insurance Services launched a 30-year career into business management consulting which eventually evolved to the healthcare industry. He worked for a few national consulting firms and in 2005 retired as VP Sales for one of the largest healthcare consulting companies in the nation.
Lyle married his high school sweetheart Christine MacDonald in 1990. They returned to the Sacramento area in 2006 to assist with their aging parents. As a result of this experience he started his own insurance business with a focus on the over-65 demographic. Lyle has provided help for hundreds of people to navigate the transition to Medicare and the other complexities of senior needs. He is also licensed to advise his clients on long-term-care and life insurance as well as other retirement planning insurance products.
Jaynie Dame from askjaynie.com and AskJaynie on Facebook and Instagram has a 20 plus year background as a Geriatric Care Manager and has helped countless seniors and their families. As an advocate for the rights of all seniors, she has fought for Medicare rights, and prevented premature discharges from hospitals, getting her clients the care they need by empowering families to get the medical care the deserve.
She provides monthly support and education to all primary care providers through her “Wine About Your Aging Parents, Brew Up a Better Care Plan” group meetings in the Greater Sacramento area. As an Administrator through the state, she knows guidelines for placements and care options. And after working with hospice, she has the understanding and knowledge to talk with families about their options for final care. Jaynie is someone you want on your team and we look forward to having her present on this important topic that is on the top of most of our minds when it comes to care.
