Veteran Care

Countless U.S. veterans valiantly served our country, but now struggle every day to live at home and care for themselves. Thousands of U.S. wartime veterans and their surviving spouses, aged 65 and older, are in need of in-home caregiver assistance. Unfortunately, not many of them are aware of tax-free benefits that they are entitled to through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

At Right at Home Sacramento, we are always glad to help our area veterans get everything for which they are qualified.

As the owner of a non-medical in-home care and assistance company (Right at Home), it has been my great privilege to serve local area veterans by helping them to age in place in their homes. As the cost of care rises this becomes more difficult for some veterans and their families. As a company we work to make veterans aware of the Veterans Administration (VA) programs like “Aid and Attendance” which provides qualified veterans and their spouses with additional resources to help cover the cost of home care.

At Right at Home Sacramento-Davis, we are a veteran owned business with a desire to go the “Extra Mile” for our fellow veterans. We work hard to be the “Right People” with the “Right Services”, and the “Right Approach” to fulfill the “Right Mission” which is to serve America’s Hero’s; our Veterans.

I was asked recently “why I was so passionate about serving veterans?” I responded that not only am I a veteran of the U.S. Navy, I come from a long line of veterans like my Great Grandfather William Murray McAllister who fought in WWI, to my three war veteran Grandfather, Douglas Earl Young (WWII, Korea, and Vietnam), along with my Dad who served during the Korean War in the U.S. Navy. My younger brother Douglas Andrew Parker, served 23 years in the U.S. Navy, making three trips to the Persian Gulf. This is why I personally feel passionate about Right at Home doing our very best for these men and women who risked it all to serve our nation. I recently had the honor of accompanying my Dad, Richard D. Parker on an Honor Flight beginning in Syracuse NY. We flew to Washington D.C. and spent the day exploring the war memorials. We returned to well over 1,000 people who came out to greet their returning veterans; it was a day that I will never forget.

Respite Care

Homemaker & Home Health Aide Care

This benefit pays for Right at Home to come to the veteran’s residence to provide assistance with dressing, bathing, personal care, meal preparation, laundry and feeding, regardless if a family caregiver is in the home. Keep in mind, the VA does not allow Right at Home to transport the veteran in any vehicle.

The veteran’s health care provider at the local Veteran Affairs Medical Center will determine how many home care visits a veteran can receive. Veterans can ask their provider for more care and can request Right at Home to be their provider. This service has to be initiated by the veteran or their VA medical professional.

Right at Home of Sacramento is an approved and contracted provider of these home care services from Triwest. We look forward to providing assistance with the process.
