Dinner Service Project at Lifebridge in Salem
Lifebridge dinner service, round two!
Our Right at Home Salem-Marblehead team participated in a dinner service project with the Community Meals Program at Lifebridge on Thursday February 22, 2019. Our group prepared, cooked and served a warm and healthy meal for those in need in town. We served a total of 87 people and ten to-go meals for first responders and downtown city workers.
Several members of the office joined in to serve dinner, including Rosaleen Doherty, CEO/Co-Owner, Claudia Kassab, Finance Director, Janessa Heger, RN Nurse Supervisor, Celeste Begley, Community Relations Director, Victoria Guskiewicz, Community Relations Coordinator and Mercedes Nelson, Scheduling Coordinator.
Lifebridge Community Meals Program serves three hot meals per day 365 days a year in the heart of downtown Salem. Lifebridge began in the 1980s as a small soup kitchen that served those in need two evenings each week. It soon expanded into a place where three meals were being served regularly every day of the week.
“Our team was so excited to participate in our second dinner service with a few new team members this time around. Janessa and Victoria worked on chopping vegetables, Mercedes prepared the salad, Celeste prepped and seasoned the chicken, Claudia chopped garlic and prepared the rice with me on desserts”, said Rosaleen. “Special thank you to my team for preparing a delicious meal and putting out a great dinner service! This project is at the heart of our RightMission to improve the quality of life for those we serve.”
