Caregiver Appreciation
On February 8th & 9th the Northeast was hit with the biggest blizzard since the infamous “Blizzard of `78”. The South Shore of Boston was particularly hit hard with over 22 inches of snow and gale force winds that caused drifting, downed trees and extensive power outages. Travel conditions were so bad that the Governor of Massachusetts banned all non-essential traffic from the roads for 24-hours during the height of the storm. In order to ensure the safety of our clients and caregivers and to comply with the Governor’s no-travel orders, Right at Home mobilized our caregivers for extended shifts with their clients. Many caregivers worked 24-30 hours straight, often without power, caring for clients and reassuring their well-being throughout the storm. Following the storm, Libet Callahan, then Director of Clinical Services of Right at Home recognized those caregivers who went above and beyond to care for their clients and uphold the high standards that has made Right at Home one of the most trusted and respected homecare agencies on the South Shore.
