Brenwood Parks Summertime Senior Event
Right at Home Southern Milwaukee County was honored to volunteer at one of Brenwood Parks many fun summertime senior events. Brenwood Park Assisted Living is a charming residential care home situated in Franklin, WI. There were a remarkable group of seniors gathered to celebrate the summer over adorable cupcakes, grilled chicken sandwiches, million-dollar potato salad, and that summertime staple, watermelon. Brenwood hosted an amazing raffle where each and every resident in attendance walked away with either a gift bag or gift certificate of some sort.
Gift certificates for Pick-n-Save, Cousins Subs, floor shampooing, home care services, and the like were much sought after by the residents. Brenwood created several game areas for the residents to put their skills to the test to walk away with additional prizes. We hosted the ‘Guess How Many’ station where 99 candy bars were enclosed in an oddly shaped glass jar and the resident who guessed the closest to the correct amount won a nifty prize. It was a real joy getting a chance to interact 1:1 with many of these fun seniors! Other fun game stations included a ‘Guess the Face’ station with pictures of old movie and TV stars adorned on a large poster board and the residents had to guess who the famous faces were with whoever getting the most guesses correctly walking away with a prize.

A dart throwing station where residents had to throw darts into hula hoops for prizes and a golf putting station which was point based. It seemed to be a resident favorite! It was a great day and we look forward to volunteering again with this great group at Brenwood Park in the future.
