5 Precautions We're Taking to Keep You Safe During COVID-19
As of writing this article, the number of COVID-19 cases in Wisconsin has grown to over 600,000, with more than 6,600 individuals passing from coronavirus. While thankfully the number of cases is seemingly on the decline, we’re still taking all the recommended precautions to keep clients and caregivers safe.
The elderly population is at an increased risk for worsened symptoms due to COVID-19, so we take our role as caregivers very seriously. Read on to learn about some of the precautions we’ve implemented in the past year to help keep everyone safe and healthy.
Masking up.
Per the CDC recommendations, our staff and caregivers are masked up anytime they’re interacting with a client, in public spaces, or around others outdoors.
We also ask that clients wear masks when interacting with caregivers. Our masks keep each other safe and limit the potential spread of germs that make us sick.
Social distancing.
When possible, our staff and caregivers maintain appropriate social distancing. The CDC recommends limiting face-to-face interactions with social, or physical distancing. Our caregivers work to limit contact when running errands, minimize time spent in public spaces, and maintain appropriate distance when around others.
Regular hand washing.
Proper hygiene is one of the most effective ways to ward off virus-causing germs. Our caregivers and staff are diligent about washing their hands regularly, including before and after interacting with a client, before and after meal prep, after using the restroom, and more.
Our caregivers are ready to help your loved ones stay safe as well. We can help with hygiene and personal care routines.
Vaccine availability.
Vaccines have been made available to our staff and caregivers. Some of the professionals on our staff have already begun receiving their doses! The vaccine is one of the best ways to stop the spread of COVID-19 and is just another way we’re doing our part to keep clients and caregivers safe.
Following the CDC.
Throughout the pandemic, we’ve been keeping a close eye on the Center for Disease Control and the public safety recommendations they’ve been making. As the situation continues to progress and we learn more about the virus, we’re updating our policies and practices to ensure both our caregivers and clients are as safe as possible.
