May 2020 Caregiver of the Month

Congratulations to Kiley Millay

Caregiver Kiley and Client

Kiley has been a great addition to the Right at Home Team, She is compassionate, caring, responsible, creative, and reliable. She truly cares about the clients she is working with and goes above and beyond to find activities for them to do around the area to get her client out-and-about to different social gatherings. Families appreciate that when Kiley is with their loved ones they know their loved one is being taken care of and thought for.

A message from a current client family: Gerald P. Daughter Josette

“She is so deserving! She genuinely cares about my dad. She is helpful and likes to be busy. She carries herself quite professionally at a young age!

A Message from an additional client: Betty W. Family Member Becky D.

“Kiley has been a true blessing to our family in helping to care for my Aunt who is living with Alzheimer’s.

Due to some prior experiences, we had requested a caregiver who was a bit older, so when RAH recommended Kiley, we were honestly a bit skeptical. Boy—did she prove us wrong! Kiley has been one of the most thoughtful, capable and conscientious caregivers we’ve worked with.

Early on, Kiley was interested in learning about my Aunt so she could make the most of their time together…activities she enjoys, types of food she likes/dislikes, etc. She now ensures the time she spends with my Aunt incorporates those activities (going to concerts, taking car rides, listening to music, getting her nails done, doing puzzles, etc.). She is even willing to take my Aunt to concerts on the weekends. I’m not sure how many college students would spend their Saturday at a concert with a senior citizen who has Alzheimer’s—but I’m grateful Kiley does!

Along with ensuring they do activities my Aunt will enjoy, I appreciate that Kiley keeps me informed about any new/changing conditions with my Aunt…if she is not feeling well, if she had a particularly good day, if she is running low on bath tissue, etc. Kiley has also been very patient and flexible—for example if she shows up for her shift and my Aunt is not feeling well, Kiley takes it in stride. What a great attitude!

As my Aunt’s memory declines, it becomes important that she enjoy each and every ‘moment’ that she is in. It brings me peace to know that the moments she spends with Kiley are moments of joy for her. “ - Becky D./p>

Keep up the great work Kiley!
