How Home Healthcare Workers Are Navigating the COVID-19 Outbreak

Right at Home of Southern Maryland was recently featured in an article from Healthline, a website and provider of health information.  Melanie Lamar, Co-Owner of Right at Home Southern Maryland, was interviewed by Roz Plater for an article about how home healthcare workers are navigating the COVID-19 outbreak across the nation.  

In the interview, Melanie explained how they are trying to help prevent the potential spread of COVID-19 with the implementation of televisits for initial consultations, when working with clients to set up customized care plans. 

She also informed Healthline that Right at Home Southern Maryland is conducting daily phone calls with both clients and caregivers, where they are able to ask screening questions to determine if either are at risk of spreading illness.  This helps protect our highly trained caregivers in unprecedented times, but most importantly helps us do our very best to prevent the spread for our valued clients, who are vulnerable to Coronavirus infection.  Most of our caregivers only see one client per day, and by following CDC guidelines on preventing the spread of disease, we strive to protect the wonderful seniors that we serve.  

Our caregivers continue to practice social distancing strategies while staying in their own homes as much as possible when they are not providing care.  Through various communication touch-points with our office, our compassionate caregivers are monitoring themselves and their clients for symptoms and are communicating with us to report any changes.
