We Rocked Our Red to Support the National Go Red for Women Initiative
February is American Heart Month, and in support of the American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women” initiative, the Right at Home of the Piedmont Triad office staff and caregivers participated by wearing red on Feb. 3, recognized as National Go Red for Women Day.
Cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer of women, causing 1 in 3 deaths in women each year. However, it’s important to note that most cardiovascular diseases can still be prevented with education and healthy lifestyle changes.
Right at Home of the Piedmont Triad’s mission is to improve the quality of life of those we serve. Owners Greg and Jackie Brewer understand the importance of raising awareness and educating yourself on protecting and improving your health.
“Taking charge of your own heart health is critical, and losing even one woman to cardiovascular disease is too many,” said Jackie Brewer.
“Go Red for Women” is a comprehensive platform designed to increase women’s heart health awareness and serve as a catalyst for change to improve women’s lives globally. But it’s no longer just about wearing red; it’s no longer just about sharing heart health facts. It’s about all women committing to stand together with “Go Red” and taking charge of their own heart health and the health of those they can’t bear to live without.
