Eric Hicks — President

The Right at Home offices in Charleston, Beckley, Princeton, and Huntington, WV are led by Eric Hicks, who purchased the first franchise in Charleston in early 2005. I decided to open this business for two reasons:

As a manager of market development for a nursing home chain I felt empathy for the families that could no longer provide the care that their family member needed for a multitude of reasons and were forced to send their loved one to a nursing facility. I thought that if I could build a team of caregivers that would allow these elderly people to stay at home longer that it would be better for the person needing care and the family that needed help.

Secondly, my stepmother had a stroke and after 30 days in a rehab facility she was told she would be discharged within the next two days. I made calls to several agencies and they told me that they did not do private pay business and focused on Medicaid only. Another agency told me that it would take two weeks to get her the care I requested. That made me realize this area needed an in-home care agency that focused on recruiting good caregivers and worked hard to ensure they were properly screened and trained.

Cheri joined Right at Home in 2009 and has 30 plus years helping seniors navigate the health care system. Health Care needs that are unique to their changing needs. Cheri attended Concord University and began her career in Home Care in Home Oxygen as the marketing director for a national oxygen Company. She also has experience in Hospice and Medical Home Health.

Teresa Webb
Operations Manager

Teresa is a Raleigh County native and has lived there her whole life. She has worked in healthcare for almost 25 years. Teresa has a master’s in health care management. She is the Operations Manager for Fayette, Raleigh, and Mercer counties. She has been with Right at Home since 2009. She is passionate about helping people to maintain their independence while remaining in their homes. While not in the office Teresa enjoys spending time with her family and traveling with her husband.

Kristen joined the Right at Home team in January of 2022. With 8 years of experience on the administrative side of home health as well as a background in social services, she takes pride in doing her part to help those in need. When she is not at work, Kristen enjoys spending her time with her family and traveling.

Kathy has been a nurse since 1992 and she joined Right at Home in August 2020. Kathys previous experience has been in outpatient surgery, medical offices, and long-term care facilities. While working in long-term care, she realized how important it is for our seniors to be able to remain in their own homes and enjoy a higher quality of life. She stated she is glad to be part of a team that helps those in our community to do so.

Travis joined Right at Home in 2024 as the Personal Care Program RN. He taught public school for several years before acquiring his Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from West Virginia University. As a lifelong learner, he is currently working on obtaining his advanced practice license with a concentration on family nurse practitioner through the University of Charleston. In his free time, he finds pleasure in following WVU athletics and participating in outdoor activities. He loves spending time on the lake cruising in his boat, taking his dogs on long adventures on the golf course, 4-wheeling in his Jeep, exploring on his atv/utv, and traveling. He has been on several cruises to many of the Caribbean Islands. Additionally, he has officiated basketball and soccer for many years from youth recreational leagues all the way up to college level competitions. He likes staying involved in the community and mentoring others when the opportunities arise. He considers himself a people-person with a deep commitment to providing compassionate care and doing whatever it takes to assist people in a time of need.

Beth Thomas joined Right at Home in December 2009. She has been a Registered Nurse for 33 years and has a long history working in this industry. Her love for the senior population drives her to provide the best care possible to ensure a good quality of life for them.

Nicki is a WV native who has worked in several different fields over the years. After volunteering and being a staff member with two different non-profit organizations who have served the elderly population, she found her passion for helping others. She came to work for Right at Home in 2020 as she saw the needs our WV seniors have and wanted to continue to help them and those who care for them.

Angi Jones
Billing/Payroll

Angi has always loved helping people. She discovered this about herself while she was in high school and became involved in the school’s IDD program and she volunteered for the Special Olympics. She continued in that kind of work until 2006, when she began working in management. She continued her management career with an emphasis on billing/payroll since 2008 and joined the Right at Home team in 2019. Angi knew immediately that this is where she belonged.

Chris Kerns
Billing/Payroll

Chris graduated from WV Wesleyan College in 2005 with an Accounting Degree. After working with his parents at their business for several years until their retirement in 2014, Chris worked briefly with another company and received his insurance license. He joined Right at Home in 2019 to provide billing and payroll support to all four of our office locations.
