Virtual Support Group: "Application of Music Therapy and Digital Therapeutics for Parkinson’s"

We are happy to welcome Chrissy Stack from MedRhythms Therapy who will be joining us to talk about some excellent resources and new technologies.  MedRhythms specializes in the clinical implementation of neurologic music therapy services for neurologic injury and disease. Primary NMT treatment domains include cognition, speech and language, and movement. In response to COVID, the clinical team launched a tele-therapy platform that has allowed MedRhythms to further their mission of access to NMT services. Specific applications to Parkinson's Disease will be discussed.

In addition to the clinical practice, MedRhythms has a team of professionals working on digital therapeutics for walking. Information on the status of the digital therapeutic for PD will be discussed along with info on product testing and clinical trial information.

MedRhythms is a comprehensive neuro-rehab company that provides neurologic music therapy specializing in the use of music to induce brain plasticity and aid in neuro-recovery. MedRhythms has conducted nearly 20,000 hours of direct patient care through in-home care and contracting with facilities in the Northeast. The company built the program at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, the #3 Rehabilitation Hospital in the U.S. and Harvard Medical School affiliate, in Boston. This program is now the most comprehensive program of its kind in the country.

This presentation is co-sponsored by Right at Home Boston Metro West and Goddard House Assisted Living.

Now more than ever, it’s important for us to come together as a community and stay connected. We want to be a resource of hope, optimism and strength as WE, the Parkinson’s community, unite to help each other through a challenging time. Healthy social connections are critical for fostering support, learning, empathy and inspiration, and they help us maintain resilience during a time of crisis.

As we hope that many of you are staying home and practicing physical distancing we understand that you may feel frustrated, isolated, bored, hopeless and even scared. We urge you to get creative in finding ways to virtually socialize and stay connected with your community.

We look forward to seeing you then!!!
