Massachusetts Senior Circuit Breaker Tax Credit
With April showers come May flowers. And after three big storms in New England this March, we’ll be ready for that burst of color!
April is also the month when our taxes are due; not a fun day for most of us. However, if you’re a Massachusetts resident (either full- or part-time) and over the age of 65 and you pay taxes on your home’s property, you might qualify for a refundable tax credit. The Circuit Breaker tax credit, according to Mass.gov, “is based on the actual real estate taxes paid on the Massachusetts residential property you own or rent and occupy as your principal residence.”
