Right at Home Cedar Rapids Featured on the Front Page of The Gazette

Dawn Batie, a Right at Home Cedar Rapids Caregiver, was featured in a front-page newspaper article in The Gazette on February 13, 2022!  The dilemma at hand for some clients and caregivers through the course of the coronavirus pandemic is whether vaccination status can be revealed from either party. 

Some clients have insisted on knowing their caregiver’s vaccination status, but we are not, nor is the caregiver, obligated to report this information.  This is due to the federal law abbreviated HIPAA which protects the health information of all Americans.  Dawn, however, had no hesitation in sharing her pride in being fully vaccinated against covid-19 with her clients because she felt a duty to protect them.  We are so proud of Dawn for sharing her perspective with our community and being a wonderful representative of Right at Home.
