Right at Home Cleveland Delivers the Right Care

Delivering the Right Care

JoeBarb and Joe were high school sweethearts when they were 15 years old in Elyria. Joe was on the football team there and continued to play at Baldwin Wallace. Fast forward to a Parkinson’s with dementia diagnosis which stole away his ability to play football with his grandkids and Hungarian folk songs and lullabies on his accordion. While his fine motor skills may have suffered, 49 years of marriage later, Barb says he is still the same sweet man. And his football teammates still take him out to lunch weekly.

I first met Barb when Joe’s doctor recommended that she get him some extra support at the house. She said their son validated the referral by reading testimonials about Right at Home from dozens of our clients at Caring.com. Recently when Barb was contacted by our quality control survey she said,

“I love it, stay just the way you are, and please use my comments for marketing. We are so so grateful. No one understands how much peace of mind is worth until they don’t have it. Joe’s care from your team is complete. I have no worries whatsoever when his caregivers are with him. I keep a crazy schedule. I am a coach at the high school and I can focus on my work confident that he will take his pills and I won’t find him, or his pills, on the floor. I like that you treat him with dignity and that you are dependable, flexible, and check in with us regularly. Furthermore, I would like to recommend Gail for caregiver of the month.”

Gail has been on our team for the last two and a half years. She says, “I like that Right at Home matches me up well with my clients. I was an RN for 45 years, so they know I am suited to care for higher acuity patients with complex and dynamic health concerns like Joe. My supervisor, Mary Lou, is always available to support us in the field.

Joe says he looks forward to going with Gail to the monthly Gloria’s Way Memory Care Café at the Beachwood Community Center. He would love to meet new friends on November 17th or December 10th from 10:30 to noon. At Right at Home we are honored to work with amazing clients and caregivers like Barb & Joe and Gail.
