Research: Increasing Quality of Life
Right at Home is dedicated to home-based research to further knowledge and advance understanding of home care. Our mission is to understand the underlying issues of aging and to work to develop best practices for care in a home environment. A hallmark of the Institute is our focus on developing solutions to meet the needs arising from the problems and conditions of aging. We are developing strategic partnerships to leverage expertise from a variety of disciplines, specialties and institutions to create world class solutions.
We are currently participating in two studies.
Our first study is designed to collect data as we strive to improve our industry leading program to Reduce Re-Hospitalization Rates. We are in the fifth year of this study which is funded by Medicare and are focused on tracking “changes in conditions” and improving communication with our patient families. Our partners in this study are the Harvard Medical School in Boston and ClearCare web-based software.
In 2018 we began our partnership with Hearthstone Alzheimer Care on their HOME 4 CARE study. This phase-two study is funded by NIH uses a tablet-based application to train caregivers and engage home health clients. We hope that this program will lead to higher levels of social engagement and quality of life for our clients.
