Smiles and Ice Cream Treats for Seniors and Staff

Right at Home Returns to Landerbrook Transitional Care with Ice Cream

A few weeks ago we brought the nurses, therapists and residents at Landerbrook Transitional Care and Rehab in Mayfield Heights a parade of a dozen line dancers for their enjoyment, and a bit of exercise. Our partner today was Laura from Compassionate Care Hospice of Amedisys. This afternoon we came back to visit our friends at Landerbrook with another sweet treat; 🍦 our best “seller” was Cookies and Cream. How about two scoops in a waffle cone with a little chocolate love and some sprinkles on top? Yes, please!

Ice cream is a wonderful equalizer. Just about everybody loves it. One of the therapists recognized me from temple and set up a socially distant visit with a 98 year-old gentleman who I hadn’t seen since he went to the hospital months ago. He went for sugar free Neapolitan because... why choose between chocolate, vanilla and strawberry? It was great to see him doing so well. We’ll be glad to support him with The Right Care, personal hygiene and companionship, when he transitions home next week.
