Long-Term Care Confidence
Planning for long-term care can be challenging, and recent research shows that confidence in these plans often varies by age. According to the "Leading Tomorrow: 2024 Long-Term Care Consumer Study" by OneAmerica Financial, only 17% of people aged 60 or older feel confident about their long-term care plans. However, 55% of those aged 40 to 49 say they are confident in their plans.
The survey also revealed that most people prefer staying at home if they need care in the future, with 53% saying they would expect care at home and only 31% expecting to need assisted living. Many people want to stay in their own homes as they age but are unsure how to achieve that.
At Right at Home East Valley Phoenix located in Mesa, we understand that planning for long-term care can feel overwhelming. Questions about who will provide care and how to pay for it are common concerns. The survey found that only 33% of respondents feel confident in their plans, even though 74% expect to need long-term care someday. Starting your planning early can help ease these worries.
