Our History

Moses was born in Prince Edward County, Virginia. He relocated to New Jersey in his teenage years to complete high school education. He was drafted and enrolled in Officer Candidate School after earning his Bachelor of Science Degree in Math and Physics from Howard University. He then spent four-and-a-half years with the military as a computer programmer, and was discharged with the rank of Captain. Moses attended Harvard Business School after the service, then graduated again in 1974 with an M.B.A.

He began his career with IBM in Boston, then moved on to spend the next three decades working at AT&T in New Jersey. His mother continued to reside with his sister’s family in Virginia. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 1993. Moses’ sister was the primary caregiver for their mom, but the family also hired a wonderful caregiver named Patty to help Mrs. Scott during the day.

The senior Mrs. Scott passed away in 2003. Moses’ first-hand experience with in-home care inspired him to give back to the community and start a home care agency in Essex County, New Jersey. “The first case I had was at the memory care center Arden Courts, which is about a mile from my office,” said Moses. “I go up there at least three or four times a week to shake hands and just smile at everybody. It’s the way to get my day started. I enjoy it, and I am pumped for the day after that.”
