Director of Homecare

My name is Shannon Taylor and I am the current Director of Homecare for Right At Home. I have been in the business of caring for individuals since 1996 and is a passion of mine. I joined Right At Home in 2008 as a part-time On-Call Coordinator and quickly moved into a full-time Service Coordinator position. In 2010 I was promoted to the Care Coordination Manager and recently was made the Director of Homecare.

My current role as Director has been the most enjoyable for me since it allows me to make sure that each and every client receives great one on one care and that they are completely happy with our services. I look forward to working with you and your family!

Service Coordinator

My name is Karman Tankersley and I have been with Right At Home since May 2011. I have been working in the Human Service field for over 23 years and have assisted a diverse population with their goal of remaining as independent as possible. My experiences include Adult Foster Care, Assisted Living Facilities, teaching within the Special Needs population, and In-Home Health Care. I attended Mott Community College and Spring Arbor University where I studied Management and Organizational Development, focusing on Social Services.

I believe “Right At Home” stands out from other In Home Health Care Agencies because we strive to do our best, hoping to exceed our client’s expectations. We provide services based on the Person Centered planning model, taking into consideration our clients needs and wishes. Service Coordinator

My name is Samantha Nurmi and I am one of the service coordinators with Right at Home.  I have been working in the health care field for approximately 5 years. Prior to working with Right at Home I worked as a caregiver/ home health aide, mostly pertaining to memory care and hospice patients. Eventually I worked my way up to an assistant manager position in an assisted living and memory care facility. I am currently in the process of earning my Bachelor’s degree in psychology where I hope to one day specialize in geriatrics or neuro-psych. With my experience in the field I have grown to have a passion for taking care of the elderly. Every client I come in contact with I treat as if they were my family. I believe it takes a special kind of person to do the work of a caregiver and it feels great to be part of a team that makes sure that special person is found for every client. I am looking forward to working with Right at Home, along-side my wonderful co-workers, for many years to come.

Support Coordinator

HR Manager

I am currently the Human Resources Manager for Right at Home Healthcare in Grand Blanc. In this role I am responsible for all HR functions, providing support to 175 employees, ranging from Caregivers to Administrative/Office staff.

I worked with Right at Home Healthcare for 10 years before I decided to try something new. Before my return to Right at Home in May 2021, my previous role was as Human Resources Manager for a Facilities Management Company for 2 years where I provided support to almost 3000 employees, spanning across the United States. This is where I gained my knowledge in facility management. Among the few companies that we provided janitorial services, building maintenance and skilled trades to were General Motors, Ford, FCA (Fiat Chrysler). I gained extensive knowledge in collective bargaining agreements, and labor relations during this time.

I currently enjoy spending time with my children, of which I have 2. My son who is 25 years old, and my stepdaughter who is 15 years. My son currently is a Front-End Store Manager at large retail company, and my stepdaughter currently attends a private school, where she participates in Cross-Country and Track. I also enjoy traveling to tropical locations around the world with my husband. When we are not traveling, we enjoy lounging with our dogs, Buddy, Frankie, and Tilly.

RN Clinical Supervisor

My name is Amanda Bruce, I am the RN clinical supervisor here at Right at Home.  Over the past 5 years I have worked mostly with the geriatric population in the hospital setting at both St. Joseph Mercy Oakland, and Ascension Genesys hospitals, where I have cared for patients with a variety of issues such as dementia, diabetes, cardiac issues, strokes, neurological disorders, and orthopedic injuries, and surgeries. I have a passion for caring for the elderly population and have seen the impact on both patients and their families when having to consider alternate living situations for their loved ones who may not be able to care for themselves as well as they have in the past. I love working at Right at Home and truly believe we provide a great option for our clients, and their families to be able to stay safely in the comfort of their own home with the best quality of care available.
