Before I joined the Right at Home family, I worked as a CPA for 15 years. My last position was a Tax Manager at a public accounting firm in Chicago. I had a wonderful career, but when the Right at Home opportunity came along, I knew that will enable me to help people in a more personal capacity and build meaningful relationships within my community. I have always been interested in health care and understand how important a home is for the elderly—it is where they feel most comfortable, independent and where they continue to make special memories. It is such an intimate and personal environment so when a client invites me or my staff into their home, that means they are inviting us into their lives. It is very humbling for me so I will always make it a priority to ensure that we provide the best care in the best manner.

Katrina Acker

HR Director

Katina joined Right at Home shortly after it’s opening in 2022 as Office Manager. With 30+ years of healthcare experience ranging from direct patient care at home and facilities to Human Resources, Recruitment/Talent Management, System and Employee Training & Development, and HR Policy Development & Compliance, Katina helped shape the company’s core employee programs through communication, collaboration and teamwork, and worked her way up to become the HR Director in a short period of time.

Katina is a results-focused leader who is great at delivering talent acquisition, retention and motivational solutions to help employees harness their full potential and bring their best to the job. Her greatest accomplishment is being an author of 2 published books where she chronicled her personal Christian journey from being a caregiver to a cancer patient and survivor (“Cancer is What I Had, Not Who I Am”). In her free time, she devotes herself to her family and church. She is also an inspirational and highly effective public speaker in social media.
