Healthy Senior Coalition Meeting

Our Focus: Educating Our Local Residents in Elder Care Services Available and How to Become a Good Patient Advocate for Yourself

Belinda with Right at Home holding the first Healthy Senior coalition meeting at Wilson Center in Grosse Pointe. We nailed our mission statement and talked about what information we will ask our IT intern to put on our website.

Over and over we hear the same story, this is just what I heard last week:

“I didn’t think I needed to apply for VA benefits. I assumed veterans automatically got veterans benefits?!”

“I told my primary care doctor I needed Homecare for caregiver to help me at home, bathing, helping me get dressed and such. I asked him where I could find help like that, he simply said that he didn’t know. He wasn’t interested in helping me at all.”

Our coalition is part of the @healthygrossepointe initiative. Our website is www.healthypghw.org

Of course we couldn’t resist taking their driving simulator for a spin. Need to be sure we are safe to drive still!
