Put simply, our mission is to improve the quality of life for those we serve. Of course, we recognize that everyone’s idea of “quality of life” is different, which is why it’s so important to us to make you an active part of your own care plan. We want you to be in the driver’s seat regardless of any limitations or challenges you’re facing.
Most of all, we believe aging isn’t just about staying healthy, safe and independent. It’s also about living well.
Jim and Brenda Royal, Owners
Right at Home Kingwood
The Kingwood office of Right at Home is locally owned and operated by the Royal family. We want to thank you for taking the time to find out a little more about the team that will be personally responsible for the care of your loved one. We are committed to improving the quality of life for those we serve. We use a simple question to our approach to home care: "Is this the quality of care that I would want for my loved one?" Our focus is on your family: ensuring your loved one gets the quality of care they deserve and assuring you have peace of mind. Meet your Right at Home family.
Jim Royal, Owner
Jim opened the Kingwood office of Right at Home in 2006 after he was unable to find the right care for his mother, Lucile. Lucile suffered a stroke at her home in Florida and moved to Kingwood to be close to her family while she recovered. Lucile was unable to stay alone, but also needed help with daily activities and transportation to doctor's appointments and therapies. Lucile wanted to stay at home while still receiving the care she needed to recover from her stroke. Jim saw a need in our community for a company that could provide these services and opened Right at Home. It is our mission to improve the quality of life for those we serve and we do so by ensuring you or your loved one can stay wherever it is you call home for as long as possible.
Jim, his wife, Brenda, and their two children have lived in Kingwood since 1991. Prior to opening the Kingwood office, Jim worked for over 20 years in pharmaceutical management. Jim is the current President of the Health Professionals Network. He is a Paul Harris Fellow with the Humble Intercontinental Rotary Club and a member of the Kingwood Executive Club. Jim also volunteers for Rebuilding Together – Houston, which provides home repair and renovation services at no cost to homeowners in need, such as the elderly, individuals with disabilities, veterans, and people impacted by natural disasters. He is actively involved with his church where he serves as a deacon and is involved in several classes / groups.

She kept her neighbor company and painted her nails every weekend for several years. As the oldest of four children, she helped her mother with her siblings when her father suddenly passed away while she attended college. After graduation from college, she began teaching public school music. Brenda retired in 2014 after 40 years as a music teacher. During that time, she studied music therapy, played piano for seniors at local facilities, and worked at Right at Home during school breaks and summers. She is actively involved in her church and shares her talents by playing a service for families with young children every Sunday. In addition to a love for people, Brenda is an animal lover who is dedicated to animal rescue and adoption.

Our Philanthropy
Globally, an estimated 70 million people with disabilities have no access to a wheelchair. Those who cannot walk must crawl or be carried to their destination. In collaboration with a network of like-minded partners, Free Wheelchair Mission has distributed more than 1 million wheelchairs to people with disabilities in 93 developing countries around the world, providing renewed dignity, independence and hope through the gift of mobility, at no cost to the recipient.
As an organization, Right at Home's work with Free Wheelchair Mission began in 2016 as the company looked for a partner that would help us further our mission of improving lives worldwide. To date, the Right at Home team's efforts have raised more than $400,000 that has funded over 5,000 wheelchairs, which were distributed through life-changing Vision Trips to Vietnam, Ecuador and Costa Rica.
