Increasing Morale During COVID-19
Increasing Morale
I am sure everyone has felt the wrath of COVID-19 by now. I KNOW our caregivers and clients are feeling it, too. We had a very stressed caregiver call a couple days ago, stating that she wanted to put in her two weeks notice. She does such a great job with her client, so we of course, convinced her to stay. We realized, though, that our caregivers are isolated and stressed and need something to make them smile. So, we decided to give a morale booster.
Right at Home Lima admin staff and myself made brief stops at each of our client's homes while the caregivers were there. We gave the caregivers flowers, balloons, a small bag of goodies (candy), a yard sign (placed in client's yard) that says we love our caregivers/not all heroes wear capes., etc, and a handwritten love note from the owner. I also took one of my dogs along. The clients ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE DOG VISIT!!! I never thought my dog could make such a difference, but she did. The caregivers mentioned how much they felt appreciated. That in turn, increased our morale.
