Larry Anthony, Owner

Larry is a baby boomer who spent 36 years in the telecom industry. He was looking for something new when he found Right at Home. “I’m excited for the opportunity to help the elderly and others who wish to live at home for as long as possible,” he said. “Simply put, we’re here to help carry the weight for those who require companionship and assistance in familiar surroundings without burdening family members.”

Larry experienced what it’s like to care for an aging family member first-hand when his stepfather requested in-home care during the last four years of his life. He started with three hours of help per day, soon increased to eight and eventually needed to have fulltime, 24/7 caregivers. Larry found himself stressed by the quick turnover of caregivers and the strain of having to take over when a caregiver could not make a shift or was off-duty. As a family member he felt that there must be a better way to care for our loved ones.

Long before he found a way to serve others dealing with these issues via Right at Home, Larry served in the U.S. Military during the Vietnam War. “You haven’t lived until you’ve had your 21st birthday on the top of a mountain in Vietnam during war,” he said.

After college he spent several years in the insurance industry and then embarked on his long career in telecommunications – a career that eventually led him to executive roles and ownership of two companies, which he sold to public firms.

In his spare time he is an avid mountain-hiking enthusiast and Dodgers baseball fan. He collects and restores classic automobiles from the '40s through the '70s, and is the curator of a privately-owned car collection from the '50s. He also loves traveling around the United States and Internationally.
