Right at Home Marin’s Silent Disco Halloween Party

Right at Home Marin’s Silent Disco Halloween Party took place on October 31st at The Bluffs at Hamilton-Memory Care. Residents used wireless headphones to listen to their favorite music of the 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s – The Bee Gees, Elvis Presley, Bing Crosby, Chubby Checker, The Beach Boys (to name just a few).  Some danced, some listened, some smiled, some laughed, and some even got teary. Music brings out the best of all of our emotions. Allows us to reminisce and remember the good old days.

The wireless headphones allowed the residents to set their own volume (with hearing aids intact), get up and move around freely, and connect physically or visually with others in the room. It was a great way to bring the residents together promoting social activity and provided those with hearing loss a more suitable conduit to really listen/hear the music. Right at Home Marin along with HUSHconcerts will be touring other local senior communities presenting “Silent Disco Senior Tour”.
