I have been with Right at Home for 5 years.
2. What is your background and experience?
I was a CNA and presently have my Certified Home Health Aide license.
3. What is the most memorable/rewarding experience in your caregiving career?

Caring for my client, Mr. H., who had cancer. He would always call me “my pal”. He would always say “please don’t leave me pal!” He really touched my heart.

4. How do you handle caregiver stress?
I pray.
5. What do you like to do in your free time?
I like to walk and to sing.

1. How long have you been with Right at Home of Morris & Union Counties?
I have been a caregiver for eight years and all of them have been with Right at Home.
2. What is your background and experience?
Prior to being a CHHA, I was a live-in doula in New York for many years.
3. What is the most memorable/rewarding experience in your caregiving career?
The job is rewarding as I treat my elderly clients with the same respect I would like to be treated when I am older.
4. How do you handle caregiver stress?
I try to relax and I pray a lot. I watch television and play cards with my patients. I also like word puzzles.
5. What do you like to do in your free time?
I watch television and spend time with my family. I have 17 grandchildren!!

I have worked for Right at Home for less than a year.
2. What is your background and experience?
I have many years of experience as a caregiver.
3. What is the most memorable/rewarding experience in your caregiving career?
For me personally it was when I cared for my parents and aunts. lt was a chance to give back to them.
4. How do you handle caregiver stress?
I try to relax and keep rested by taking occasional naps and I unwind also by watching television.
5. What do you like to do in your free time?
I love spending time with my grandchildren. I also enjoy television and crossword puzzles.

I have been with Right at Home since 2009.
2. What is your background and experience?
I have 19 years of experience. I have extensive experience with difficult clients and I always do live-in cases.
3. What is the most memorable/rewarding experience in your caregiving career?
I find cases where the clients express their thanks for my care are the most rewarding.
4. How do you handle caregiver stress?
I do Bible readings and prayer.
5. What do you like to do in your free time?
I love spending time with my grandchildren the most. Family time is very important to me.

1. How long have you been with Right at Home of Morris & Union Counties?
It has been 10 years since I started working for Right at Home of Morris & Union Counties.
2. What is your background and experience?
I have worked at the Chelsea Assisted Living. I enjoy working with senior citizens.
3. What is the most memorable/rewarding experience in your caregiving career?
It was very memorable when someone called me an “Angel of mercy.” Some patients even sang to me when I was caring for them. I love the nickname that some clients call me, Marty.
4. How do you handle caregiver stress?
When I come home I relax, listen to music and drink my favorite wine.
5. What do you like to do in your free time?
During my free time I like to watch movies on the Hallmark channel and E! News. I also take care of my daughter, Skylar.

Shelly Francis

1. How long have you been with Right at Home of Morris & Union Counties?
I have been with Right at Home since March 2011.
2. What is your background and experience?
I am originally from Guyana and I worked as a private caregiver there. I moved to the U.S. and received my Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) license in New York Eventually, I moved to New Jersey and got my N.J. CHHA license and started working for Right at Home.
3. What is the most memorable/rewarding experience in your caregiving career?
I have been a live-in caregiver since I started at Right at Home. I am a loving caregiver to my patients and they, in turn, love me. My most memorable experience was when one of my patients said she wanted to get better, but if it meant she wouldn’t see me anymore, then she would prefer to remain sick!
4. How do you handle caregiver stress?
I deal with caregiver stress by being patient and through prayer. I read the Bible for strength to be a kind and caring Aide.
5. What do you like to do in your free time?
I am the loving mother of three boys and four granddaughters. When I am not on a case I love to spend time with my sister. We love going to the movies and vacations together.
