Right at Home Plans To Hire 26,000 Caregivers in 2024

To help reach more seniors and adults with disabilities with in-home care services, Right at Home has set an initiative to hire 50% more caregivers across the network in 2024. Its approach to caregiver hiring is to help empower Right at Home local owners by offering tools to help them reach their recruitment goals.

Nikki Holles, Vice President of People Strategy for Right at Home, told Home Health Care News (HHCN) that the impetus behind Right at Home’s hiring initiative was the increased growth in clients the company was seeing.

The demand for in-home care is increasing. Today, approximately 58 million Americans are age 65 or older, and most seniors want to age in place in their own homes for as long as possible. While the population is rising, the family caregiver pool is shrinking. The AARP estimates that the ratio of family caregivers to those over age 80 will decrease from 7:1 to 4:1 by 2030 to less than 3:1 by 2050.

Right at Home creates strong national relationships with preferred partners across several categories, providing franchisees the support to recruit, hire and retain the best talent. These preferred partners provide applicant tracking, employee engagement, job boards, onboarding, payroll, training programs, and other services. Right at Home also brings forward new programs and invites franchisees to be small testing cohorts to validate the programs’ effectiveness before they are shared across the Right at Home network.

The strategies in place for Right at Home’s current hiring initiative fall in line with the company’s larger efforts around cultivating an appealing culture for caregivers, Right at Home President and CEO Margaret Haynes told HHCN.

The culture can easily be touted by Right at Home’s recent national recognition in Home Care Pulse’s Best of Home Care Awards. Right at Home local offices ranked No. 1 for Provider of Choice, Employer of Choice, and Leader in Experience.
