Our People
Here at Right at Home, we're dedicated to being much more than a franchise company. We are the navigator of what comes next for seniors and adults with disabilities. Our mission has always been to improve the quality of life for those we serve. That means it's always about the people we serve, and our dedicated local owners and their professional teams work tirelessly to care for clients. Though we make sure our franchises live and breathe our mission every day, we recognize that it starts with our corporate team.
These are the people who work behind the scenes to bring you and your loved ones the highest caliber of in‑home care.

Owners Kristin and Jeremy Starkel
Hello! My name is Kristin Starkel. I am proud to be part owner of Right At Home - Norfolk, serving Northeast Nebraska. I grew up on a farm outside of Tilden, NE, where my parents still reside.
After high school, I earned by bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Nebraska. In my career, I have always enjoyed helping improve the health of my patients, and making them smile! I hope to carry my drive for excellent patient care over into our in-home care business.
My husband, Jeremy and I decided the perfect place to start our business was back home in Northeast Nebraska, where there is great need for caring for an aging population.
Family, small town values, and a sense of community are just a few of the reasons that solidified our decision to move to Norfolk to start Right At Home. I look forward to serving the community, and continuing to brighten patient’s days and smiles!
My name is Jeremy Starkel. I’m married to Kristin Starkel and have a son named Jagur and a yellow lab named Snarf. I was born and raised here in Norfolk, Nebraska. Graduated from Norfolk Catholic in 1997 where I played football for all 4 years under coach Jeff Bellar. I attended Northeast Community College after high school then moved to Phoenix, AZ where I studied Audio Engineering. After a few years, I moved to Omaha where I received my Bachelor’s degree in business management from Bellevue University. I then took a position as Director of Recruitment for the University of Phoenix where I worked for 7 years and earned my MBA. Most recently I’ve worked as a Branch Manager for the last 6 ½ years for a medical staffing firm called Aureus Medical based in Omaha Nebraska.
About 3 years ago my Mom was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. My sisters and I had a crash course in becoming caregivers for her as she lost the ability to walk due to the disease. We encountered first hand how challenging it was for her as well as us with having to take time off of work to take her to doctors’ appointments, chemotherapy, and just to help her with daily activities of life. In August of 2017 we lost her to her battle with cancer. I knew at that moment there was a greater purpose for me in life. I wanted to do something where I could give back to other families who have loved ones at home who need care. My wife and I thought what better way to do that than back in our hometown and areas where we grew up.
