Illinois Veterans

Service Officers Are There to Help You

To assist veterans in navigating the complex web of services and benefits available, the Illinois Department of Veteran Affairs (IDVA) has "Veterans Service Officers" throughout Illinois. The many locations help ensure services and advice are available to veterans close to their homes. The VA website has all the information you should need to learn about VA resources, programs, benefits, and more.

Information on locations and phone numbers for Veterans Service Officers can be found on the VA Website by clicking the Locate your closest veteran service officer link. Veterans Service Officers (VSO) are trained to provide free assistance to veterans and their dependents and survivors. This includes not only applying for federal and state benefits, but also providing resources related to the following:

  • Compensation and Pension
  • Health Care
  • Education & Training
  • Employment
  • Burial & Survivor
  • Housing
  • Permits
  • Transportation
